What is the Tenancy Deposit Scheme?

TDS is an industry owned and government approved tenancy deposit protection scheme for the residential lettings market.  

As the only not for profit scheme we are the natural choice for housing associations entering the private lettings market.

Membership fees

Headline rate

£9.25 +VAT per tenancy.

Membership of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme is on an annual basis. Your fee is calculated at the start of each membership year (1 April - 31 March) based on the number of deposits you are protecting and discounts applied for loyalty and low numbers of disputes.

Discounts

TDS for Housing AssociationsAs a not for profit scheme, we can reinvest our surplus in discounts for members. After your first full membership year we apply reduced rates based on low numbers of disputes.

Last membership year:

90% of TDS members received a discount from the headline rate
£3.60 +VAT per tenancy was our lowest member fee
• An extra 50p discount per tenancy was given to members renewing a second time or more.
